The Grand Banking Hall is a design study for transforming a historic former bank in Athol into an event venue. The concept preserves the visual power of the building’s monumental windows and ornament while introducing a ballroom, bar and hospitality experience.

The project began with the qualities already present. Rather than treating the historic fabric as a constraint, the design uses it as the basis for a new identity and a new reason for people to occupy the building.

It represents the kind of adaptive reuse DBA wants to pursue: existing architecture given renewed relevance through a clear program, strong spatial character and a practical path toward reinvention.
